Jazmin Jimenez is a full-time graduate candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursuing her masters in social work.

Originally from Ventura County, Jazmin received her undergraduate education at The University of California, Los Angeles where she received her diploma in Global Studies. During her time there she was part of several organizations, groups, and internships that urged access, development, and equality on campus. Recently, Jazmin was a coordinator for the first annual Conejo Valley LGBTQ+ Pride as well as a staff member for the second annual Ventura County Loud and Queer. Jazmin felt it was rewarding to have part of creating community and safe spaces for the local LGBTQ+ community to express themselves. One project she is currently working on is running a social media blog for de-stigmatizing mental health and finding resources for marginalized folks.

Upon completion of her masters in 2022, Jazmin’s ultimate goal is to pursue a clinical mental health practice specializing in serving marginalized communities while incorporating a social justice lens. Coming from a household of two immigrant parents, Jazmin is committed to fighting for safe spaces for marginalized individuals, as well as access to mental healthcare. As a future social worker, Jazmin looks forward to creating accessible and affordable mental health spaces, safe exploration zones, fostering community, and exploring collective solutions for systemic trauma and healing.
In her spare time Jazmin loves painting, thrifting, playing with her dog, and cooking delicious vegetarian cuisine.
