Kellye Whitaker Recognized as a Woodland Community Advocate by the Center for Heirs Property Preservation

Congratulations to Kellye Whitaker, NCGrowth-SmartUp South Carolina Program Manager, on her recent graduation from the Center for Heirs Property Preservation Woodland Community Advocate Institute. The five-week advocacy training program covered topics such as heirs’ property issues, legal and forestry programs, zoning and planning, conflict resolution, and outreach techniques.
New Advocates were recognized at the Center’s 6th Annual South Carolina Rural and Limited Resource Landowner’s Symposium in Charleston, SC in October. Industry experts and partner representatives from USDA/SC-NRCS, Forest Service, etc. were all on hand to provide landowners in attendance technical and financial assistance.
