NCGrowth-SmartUp South Carolina client Freedom Air HVAC, located in rural Hampton is a minority, veteran, family-owned company that specializes in traditional heating and air conditioning repair, installation, replacement, and services. The company uses state of the art technology and techniques to provide energy efficient solutions to its mostly residential customer base.
Last year, NCGrowth-SmartUp Analyst, Oluwandara (Dara) Abimbade, a Learning Sciences doctoral student at Clemson University, converted Freedom Air’s face-to-face HVAC Technician Certification Training Course into a robust hybrid online learning environment. The new platform, Learn2Earn, stores the entire course curriculum online, tracks student performance, scores interactive assessment activities, and houses training videos.
This Fall semester, NCGrowth-SmartUp analyst, Sam Wilkes, also a Learning Sciences doctoral
student at Clemson, will assist in incorporating virtual reality training components to the existing Learn2Earn platform.
